Why do you need this?

You have your Home Theater and Life is good, Then you start adding more HD sources and/or Display devices and would like to route these signals all over the house or complex.  Without a Matrix Switch you have a pile of spaghetti wiring and limited ways to switch from source to source to destination.  HDTV can be a real challenge when growing a Large Home Theater, Whole House or Commercial System.  A New Professional Matrix Switcher will set you back thousands and this one I am offering costs over $10,000!

If you have a Home Theater and two or more HDTV sources,  a Projector and a Preview Monitor, along with a everyday TV, you need this switcher!  Perhaps you would like to add a preview (or cue) monitor.  As your system grows all you have to do is plug in new components, no crazy wiring schemes to get you by each time you add something (let alone explaining to your other half how to operate things!).  Only a matrix switcher can allow you easy connections of all your equipment without special patching.  PLEASE NOTE:  that a Switcher Router (this unit) DOES NOT convert signals IE: It will not change HDTV to SDTV (Component to Standard Video and visa/versa), this must be done with additional adapters which are NOT INCLUDED.  HOWEVER not all of the 8 channels have to be used for HDTV, you can define some of the channels (in and out) for standard video, S-Video and/or Coaxial digital audio.  The only requirement is that you MUST switch LIKE signals from in to out.  IE, HDTV source must go to an HD-TV and a Standard Video source must go to a regular TV.

What Exactly is it?

This is a TRUE 8×8 Matrix Switcher/Router which means that you can connect 8 HD Sources and 8 HD Destinations (Projectors, Displays, Recorders, etc).   Via the magic in the box ANY SOURCE can be electronically switched to ANY DESTINATION  without any manual wiring or patching.  You may have seen these on eBay before and there may be some up for bid right now BUT several things that make ours special.  First off, see our feedback- We don’t leave our buyers unhappy,  Second,  we have electronic engineers and technicians on staff that have refurbished and re- certified every aspect of these units to 100% perfect, this includes rebuilding fans and power supplies allowing us to provide a full 6 month warranty.  Also included is an RS232 Cable and Software for a standard pc to control it + Full Manuals in PDF.

Controlling your system

If you have an upper-ended control system like AMX, Control4 or Creston  just plug this unit into an RS232 port and smile, for the rest of us there are several lo-cost ways to control this switcher.  First you can use the built in front panel controls (a $800 value alone) or If you like using a IR remote control, then home controllers like “ADI OCELOT” and “HomeVision” both can receive IR and send the required RS232 signals to the switcher as well as send additional IR signals to your other equipment to create complete macros such as “system-on” and “system-off”.  Add-on control box’s can be as simple as “IR to RS232” or Higher end which support “IF-THEN” type programming to keep your whole system and/or house in check.  X10 is also standard in both of the suggested controllers Xantech also maks IR controllers. (CONTROLLER NOT INCLUDED).
