This is an Archer (Radio Shack) component of a burglar alarm system.  It beams invisible light to a reflector (included) at the other end of the room, and if anything breaks the beams, an attached buzzer (not included) is activated, or a 12V monitoring device (not included) can be used.  120V standard USA integrated outlet cord, replaceable fuse, sensitivity control, switch to sound alarm from instant or intermittent breaking of the beam, 12V output terminals for buzzer, indicator LEDs, mounting bracket
