These items were used in the 1990s for voice recognition. The user would speak into the device and the speech would be recorded and converted into text which could then be transferred to a computer.
This product comes with two Speech Commanders, two battery packs and a spare circuit board as pictured. The battery packs slide onto the top of the devices and plug into the power port.
